Okay, So this was another entry for the local fair that got disqualified... It's actually Christine and her daughter. (guess who the dad is, really. I bet you'll never guess.) The title "Tradition" is simply the whole idea behind this... I would bet alot that when/if Christine ever became a mother, that her child/ren would be fed so many stories to feed their creativity just like Daddy Daae did for Christine. I mean, honsetly.

The RESEARCH I did for this was ridiculous. Everything you see is 1885 France except the Persian rug and the Italian vase with the roses in it. That's actually mine... I don't know if you noticed the white roses and the Nightingale in the window right next to the red roses... Symbolism! Check it, yo.

Anyway, the reason these were disqualified from the fair was because of a new rule. NO FRAMES. So, I followed that rule and put my art in protective, plastic floater covers. My and my sisters art was disqualified and all that garbage... I was fine about it, but my sister spent SIX MONTHS on her life-like portrait. She was less then happy. They were so hell-bent on following their new (rather foolish if you ask me [rule]. Who in their right mind would submit art without protecting it? Graphite can be smudged, okay?) rule. ANOTHER new rule was "Nothing over 11x14'" Did you know that there was art there (that placed) That was well over 11x14? I could care less about being disqualified, honestly. But If you're going to be adamant about following your rules, follow ALL OF YOUR RULES.

End of rant. If you read that, well wow. Have a muffin.

Well, I give up on who the girl's father is. Great picture though! The colors are so warm and I love the expressions!

(Yellow eyes...yellow burning eyes like hot coals...hmm...waitaminute)
